U14
U14 serves as the next developmental stage for young ski racers, where our program maintains a strong focus on the consolidation and refinement of technical and tactical skills both in and outside of gates. At this stage, athletes transition into the "learn to race" phase and further refine their training in accordance with Alpine Canada's long-term athlete development model. This includes the incorporation of decision training, where athletes learn to make informed decisions and take responsibility for their training and performance. The U14 program is designed to support athletes as they develop and prepare for the challenges of competitive ski racing.
U16
U16 Race Program is the natural progression for young ski racers who have completed U14. The program maintains a focus on consolidating and refining technical skills in the gates and tactical skills outside of the gates. They further refine their abilities in preparation for the ‘Train to Race’ and ‘Race to Win’ phases. This includes incorporating decision making into their training, enabling Athletes to make informed decisions and increasingly take more ownership their training and performance.
U18 (Junior)
The Junior program, for 16 to 20 year old athletes, focuses on the ‘Train to Race’ and ‘Race to Win’ phases of the athlete development as alpine racers. In addition the program does have a mixture of athletes with differing focuses including those who aspire to and are involved in FIS sanctioned race events, the Quebec Championship Junior series races, and those who simply want to continue the race experience by participating in the local series events.
